2024-2025 Season of Performance Ensemble Plans and Auditions
We are excited to announce the performance season starting with Nutcracker (December19-22) La Bayadere and New Works (Feb 21-23) and Snow White (May 23-25), All performances are scheduled at the Anderson Center Theater. Casting for Nutcracker will be released in September, casting for La Bayadere and New Works will be released in October, casting for Snow White will be released in January.
Auditions Information:
Performance Ensemble auditions for all productions will be held at Le Jeune Dance Studios August 24th for ages 3-19. Please see specific age/level audition times.
All participants will be casted in a role if:
*Participants can commit to the mandatory rehearsal and performance schedule. General rehearsal schedule is: Tuesday-Pas de Deux, Levels 3-Trainee, and Solo/Principal, Fri Eve- All roles may be called, Saturday 1:30-6M -All roles may be called at various times.
- Submit contract and fees on time
- Families are required to donate 1 sweets and treats item, and volunteer for (2) positions during tech week or pay volunteer opt out fee.
- $50 non refundable Casting Fee due with participation form at time of audition. This Casting Fee will be deducted from your Nutcracker participation/role fee when the role is accepted.
- Please enter the building 10 minutes ahead of your audition time with your participation form and casting fee prepared.

Dance Division & Program Descriptions
Childrens Division
Children’s Dance Division is for ages toddler-6 years. Classes in this division offer basic principles of dance in a fun and energetic manner. Key elements include following directions, listening for details, coordination, strength, flexibility, balance and foundational movements of dance.
This division is designed to introduce your child to the fun and excitement of dance and train them on some very fundamental movements.

Open Division
Open Division classes are for ages 6-Adult. Classes are offered in a variety of styles and levels. Students enrolled in the Open Division enjoy the flexibility of choosing their specific classes and styles to accommodate the amount of hours of training they desire while receiving high quality professional instruction. A student in this division may choose to take as many or as few classes as they desire.
All Children’s Division and select Open Division classes will perform in the Student Showcase
Dancers Age 3 and older are invited to audition for the Performing Ensemble productions.
Open Division classes are for ages 6-Adult. Classes are offered in a variety of styles and levels. Students enrolled in the Open Division enjoy the flexibility of choosing their specific classes and styles to accommodate the amount of hours of training they desire while receiving high quality professional instruction. A student in this division may choose to take as many or as few classes as they desire. Open Division Dancers are required to enroll in one Ballet Class before enrolling in any other Dance class.
BALLET 1- BALLET 5
Ballet classes take the student through the study of classical ballet with concentration on technique, fundamental terminology, flexibility, strength and artistry.
POINTE
Pointe is offered at a beginning/intermediate level and an intermediate/advanced level. Pointe is introduced when dancers demonstrate strenth, knowledge and readiness. A point assessment must be schedule before placement.
VARIATIONS
Variations class is offered at the intermediate/advanced level. Dancers will learn classical variations from well known ballets.
BEGINNING, INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED CONTEMPORARY
Principles of dance technique and good form are developed in contemporary classes. Strength and expression are developed. Focus remains on technique, control and precise of movement. Dancers work to develop an understanding of shape, space, levels, flow, weight and rhythm as it relates to movement.
ADVANCED MODERN
Principles of all Modern dance techniques are explored. Dancers build advanced quality to their movements and expression of shape, use of space, levels, flow, weight and rhythm.
STRETCH & STRENGTHENING
Stretch & Strengthening is offered at two levels of difficulty. This class is specific to developing muscles and flexibility to enhance a dancers performance and build heathy bodies.
Pre-Professional Divison
Pre-Professional program is for dancers ages 6 and older with the desire to train in a serious and concentrated path towards a professional career. Studies are focuses on classical ballet and modern dance. Students must adhere to their level’s schedule of multiple required classes. Students in the Pre-Professional program are encouraged to be a part of the Performance Ensemble.

Pre-Professional 1-6 and Trainee (Age 6 years+ by skill placement)
Le Jeune Dance Academy is committed to its foundational vision of providing professional-level training to aspiring young dance artists. Students in the Pre-Professional program must attend all required classes.
Le Jeune Dance prepares itsstudents for entry into the professional world of dance through quality training, education, and performance opportunities. Emphasis is placed on each student’s overall goal. It is through the nature of the mental and physical challenge of ballet’s discipline that students develop positive habits, which can help the student excel in all areas of their lives.
The dancer will work to develop critical components of dancing such as flexibility, strength, endurance, muscle memory, discipline, and attention to detail. Le Jeune Dance Academy uses the Vaganova syllabus as its base to guide the student through the proper use of placement and progressive technique, development towards pointe work, suppleness, use of torso, and port de bras. Other ballet mythologies, modern dance and conditioning are introduced to prepare the student for the demands and trends of the 21st century’s ballet and contemporary dance companies. Students receive opportunities for personal advice as they move towards their career goals.

Travel Ensemble
Travel Ensemble is part of our yearly collaborations with other Ballet Academies around the nation. In order to be considered and participate in our travel ensemble , academy dancers are selected by Artistic Directors to represent Le Jeune Dance Academy. A multitude of considerations are taken during the selection process including to participate in all 3 productions, technique levels, age, artistry, work-ethic, intellectual and emotional maturity.

Youth American Grand Prix , UBC, WBC competitors are selected by Artistic Directors to represent Le Jeune Dance Academy. Summer Program
A variety of classes and summer programs are offered during the summer months including regular weekly classes, Kids Dance Camp, Beginning Summer Intensive, Intermediate Summer Intensive, Advance Summer Intensive and Guest Teacher Series.
It is strongly recommended that all pre-professional students attend Le JDA summer intensives. Dancers of pre-professional age will be re-evaluated during summer for Fall 2024 level placement and 2024-2025 Performance Ensemble casting.

Kid’s Dance Camp Moana Theme! (Age 4-8)
June 24-June 28th 9:00AM-12PM, Tuition: $230
For ages 4-8. An overall art experiences and one of the most exciting weeks of the year for young dancers! Kid’s Dance Camp combines dance, music, and art into a theme, encouraging the use of each child’s imagination freely. Children are engaged by trained faculty in fundamentals of classical dance as well as exploring other forms of dance styles. Children will work on the development of artistry and use their creativity to create a presentation for Friday June 28th at 11:45. Over the week children learn choreography; create their own choreography, props, backdrop and costumes to take home incorporating the week’s theme!
Beginning Intensive (Levels 1A-1B)
June 17th – June 21st M-F 9:30AM-12:30 PM Studio Opens at 8:45AM. Tuition: $260

Ages 6+ w/ min 1 year of classical training. Students will work on developing & progressing in the fundamentals of classical ballet technique while exploring fundamentals of contemporary dance. Dancers will also have an opportunity to strengthen performance skills as they learn and rehearse choreography

Dancers will improve their technique, strength, and artistry with detailed classical ballet class and one additional focus per day including, pointe, classical variations, modern, contemporary, stretch and strengthening, or Musical Theater Dance. A great way to prepare your body for the rest of summer training.
Intermediate and Advanced Intensive (Levels 2B-Trainee)
July 15th – August 3rd M-F and Sat Aug 3rd, 9:30AM-3:30PM Studio Opens at 8:45, *(levels will be split into different groups/classes based on skill level)

Summer Tuition Info & Discounts
Tuition is noted with each class, camp, and intensive.
A $50 summer discount is given to all families for each full class series and full program paid in complete by May 1st. An additional 3% discount is given to families paid in complete by May 1st 2024 by check.

Le JDA accepts credit card. Payment plans are available.
Summer Intensive Positions are only guaranteed with a non-refundable 20% deposit within 5 days of on-line registration.

Summer Intensive dancers:
Regular Uniform Black Le JDA Leotard will be worn Tuesday/Thursday (Optional Uniform Leotards also allowed). This can be ordered through Le Jeune Dance.
These following items can be ordered through Wear Moi and/or local dance shops. We highly recommend placing orders before April 1st.
Intensive Dancers of every level are required to have specific uniform for intensive and participation in August 3rd performance.
