LE JEUNE DANCE ACADEMY STUDENT PARENT HANDBOOK 

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION

  1. Create and Account and register your dancer.
  2. Tuition Rates – Read the through the Tuition Rates to understand your costs.
  3. Placement – If you are new to the academy contact us for a placement evaluation.
  4. Policy Handbook – Read through the policy handbook and become familiar with Le Jeune Dance operations.
  5. Payments – Understand the registration fee and tuition fee due date.
  6. Attire – Understand proper attire and order your uniform by following the link.

*You will be prompted to sign in to view classes, schedules and fees. There are no registration obligations to view these details.

Special Notes: $50 Registration Fee for the season/student. Costume Fees/Student Showcase Fee of  $75 may be applied to performing classes. Registration Fee and and Special Discounts will be adjusted manually to your account after review. Please allow a few days for this to occur.


3. PLACEMENT

Students in the Children’s Division, “beginning” Open Division classes, or Adult Classes should register based on the student’s age at the start of the school year, September 1st.

Le Jeune Dance Academy offers class level placement for new students to ensure the best appointment of classes for proper training. Please call or email to schedule a placement evaluation.

Returning students should register for the class level recommended in the evaluation processes at the end of the session prior to the school year.

Open Division Students are highly encouraged to take at least one ballet technique class in addition to any other desired classes.


4. HANDBOOK OF POLICIES

The handbook serves as a guideline for proper behavior, protocol, procedures and policies for students, families and guests of Le Jeune Dance Academy. Le Jeune Dance Academy aims to provide a positive and comfortable atmosphere for students and guests.

5. TUITION & PAYMENT

Registration is for one full season. Tuition the full amount due for the season. Payment installment plans are available in the form of 2-payments, or Aug-May monthly installments. Installment plans may be requested through email. Costume Fee/Student Showcase Fee (for performing classes) and registration is due in full before the first class. Payments may be made directly through the parent portal account or by check in studio through the secured mailbox insidethe lobby normal business hours.


6. ATTIRE & EQUIPMENT 

Appropriate class attire and uniform is required for all students with the exception of the Adult Classes. Dancers in all other division must own the mandatory uniform including a specific leotard for dancers level 1-Trainee. Additional designated “optional” leotards may be purchased. Dancers must wear one of the designated leotards to class and rehearsals. Please see the class specific list below for additional requirements. Children’s division dancers must wear any light pink leotard (without a skirt. No watches, jewelry or accessories may be worn during class or rehearsal with the exception of small earring studs. Adult Class students are free to choice comfortable attire.

Female students should secure their hair in a neat bun. All hair should be clipped, pinned or fastened away from the face and out of the eyes. Young dancers are required to adhere to this element of etiquette and attire to encourage great habits from the beginning.

Quick Overview of Attire and Equipment

Children’s Division

  • Girls: Any pink leotard without a skirt, solid light pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Please no slippers.
  • Boys: Black fitted t-shirt. Black biker shorts or tights, black socks black ballet shoes.
  • Open Division, Pre-Professional, & Homeschool Classes Ballet

Open Division Ballet & Pre-Proffessional 

  • Ladies: Le Jeune Dance Academy Leotard, pink convertible ballet tights, pink canvas split sole ballet shoes. Bloch “Pump” shoes recommended. Dancer in PP2 and above are required to wear pointe shoe ribbons on technique shoes, ties and secured. Dancer below PP2 should not wear ribbons. 3/4″  light pink hip alignment belt. (Pre Professional Blue Sapphire- Royal Blue hip 3/4″alignment belt)
  • Gentlemen: Le Jeune Dance Academy black fitted t-shirt, dance belt, black tights, black socks, black canvas split sole ballet shoes.

Modern & Contemporary Dance

  • Ladies: Le Jeune Dance Academy Leotard, black convertible tights, leggings or shorts, black socks optional
  • Gentlemen: Le Jeune Dance Academy black fitted t-shirt, dance belt, black tights
  • Shoes: Bare Feet, Modern & Contemporary. Musical Theater Dance, Tan 2″ Character Shoe

Musical Theater Dance

  • Ladies: Le Jeune Dance Academy Leotard, black convertible tights, leggings or skirt
  • Gentlemen: Le Jeune Dance Academy black fitted t-shirt, dance belt, black tights
  • Shoes: Musical Theater Dance, Tan 2″ Character Shoe Single strap

Character Dance

  • Ladies: Le Jeune Dance Academy Leotard, character length black skirt
  • Gentlemen: Le Jeune Dance Academy black fitted t-shirt, dance belt, black tights
  • Shoes: Musical Theater Dance, Tan 1.5″-2″ Character Shoe Single strap

Stretch and Strengthening & Conditioning Classes

  • Dancers should bring an appropriate strength exercise band the with equivalent length to the dancers height
  • Dancer should bring an exercise mat

Adult Classes

Dance shoes are required on the dance floor. The individual may choose their clothing. It is recommended that the clothing be conducive for dancing and movement.
